Joomla 1.5 beta out!

One Giant Step for the Joomlasphere â€” Joomla! 1.5 Beta Released

ImageExactly one year ago, Joomla! 1.0 was released. Today, Joomla! releases the next generation framework built from the ground up. Joomla! 1.5 beta delivers more simplicity for the user and much more power for developers. The innovation and skill of our development team is clearly setting higher and higher standards.

But before we get into reams of detail about just how good Joomla! 1.5 beta is, remember this is a beta and is not yet ready for use on a production website. We need the community to roll up its sleeves and seek out bugs (and feed this back to the development working group), before we enter the release candidate phase.

I know that we are using Joomla at development stage in 2 places at Antioch:

With 1.5 and its improved user management tools, we plan to implement Joomla in key places on the Antioch College website, and Antioch University site within the next 6-12 months.

Antioch University is now running Antioch University Los Angeles on Joomla: http://www.antiochla.edu .

Additionally Joomla.org now has a forum for Schools and Universities showcasing different schools using Joomla: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/board,265.0.html
