My new Dell Inspiron Mini 9 just arrived. It comes with default Ubuntu 8.04 Linux installed. Its primary function at this point will be a little wireless web browsing machine for the home.

Am totally loving its size. Still not sure if it will be mine or my wife’s in the end. Maybe we buy another one so we each have one!
The only problem I have had so far was getting it to recognize my 128 bit WEP wireless password.
Called (ultimate destination) Dell Wireless Ubuntu support 1-866-622-1947
gave me the fix: On the wireless networking, use the 64/128 bit hex option and put the 26 digit key in there. Worked like a charm!

How did you determine the correct hex key? I’m having the same problem with WEP at work and so far haven’t been able to get it online. No problems with WPA (like on my home network) or open public wifi. I also just upgraded to the 9.04 RC remix.
My problem was solved by choosing the correct wireless security option. I had the wireless key from my router.
You would have to contact your sys admin at work to get the phrase/key.
hope this helps, good luck, and thanks for posting!
